Liverpool have been delt a blow as their main captain and star centre back Virgil Van Dijk is out injured.
The dutchman sustained a knee injury after a horror challenge by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
With teams beginning to find ways to exploit Liverpool’s high backline, creating and scoring more this season than any other.
Leeds put three past Liverpool on the opening day whilst Villa were 7-2 victors. With Van Dijk injured, Liverpool look extremely vulnerable at the back and lack any real leadership.
An instant replacement has been sought out by Jurgen Klopp with Brighton’s Ben White a main contender to be signed in January.
However, since Van Dijk’s departure, defensive midfielder Fabinho has slotted in seamlessly into the centre back position.
Liverpool have had good defensive performances against Ajax and Sheffield United. Emerging Victorious from both games.
For now, Liverpool will get by but with upcoming fixtures of an in form West Ham, Man City and Leicester City, Fabinho will truly be tested
