Greg Wylde is reportedly on the brink of signing a three year-deal with Bolton.
A number of English Premier League clubs; including Aston Villa, Everton, Stoke and Wigan as well as several English Championship sides had the talented Scottish winger on their wishlist.
The fact is that Rangers would have done everything in their power to keep the soon-to-be 23 year-old were it not for the series of financial crises at Ibrox Park.
Wylde was released from his contract after Rangers entered administration one month ago.
The Kirkintilloch native’s experience at such a young age has led to huge competition for his signature with the struggling Premier League outfit Bolton now looking his most likely destination. “He is a very talented young player, a wide player who excites me. He could certainly help us get out of the position we are in (in the league) and I would certainly be interested in signing him,” said Bolton boss Owen Coyle when asked for his thoughts on Wylde.
Bolton lie in 17th place in the English Premier League table. With 10 games of the season remaining they lie just one point and one place above the drop zone having been second bottom until last weekend’s narrow – and controversial – 2-1 win over QPR at the Reebok.
