Keane missed the Germany match due to an Achilles injury he picked up while training with the Irish squad but after returning to training over the weekend it is thought to be in line to feature after being cleared to travel with the squad to Torshavin this morning.

The FAI released a statment yesterday morning that read, “Following training this morning in Gannon Park, Robbie Keane has been ruled fit to travel with the squad for Tuesday’s match against the Faroe Islands.”

Late substitute and scorer on Friday Andy Keogh has been ruled out after suffering concussion from a knock to the head in Saturday’s training session.

Trapattoni is likely to make several changes to Friday’s line up and Manchester United winger Robbie Brady is set to feature, possibly in a starting role.
