Man United according to reports are progressing in talks over a £130 million double transfer deal for two midfielders. The Daily Mail in England are reporting United are interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred for around £50 million, while they are also looking at bringing in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for a reported £80 million.
Man United presently do midfielders in their squad as they are short on quality midfielders. Michael Carrick is retiring at the end of the season, while Belgian Marouane Fellaini is also nearing the end of his contract at Old Trafford. In addition, Pogba who was bought by United has been no where near in the form you would expect him to be and there has been some talk the French man could leave this summer. Pogba has been linked with a move back to Juventus and it’s fair to say Pogba has yet to replicate the form he shown for them at United, so you can see why there are rumours of him leaving.
Replacing Carrick, Fellaini and may be Pogba for the two named players Fred and Milinkovic-Savic could be a good deal for United, it may push them further next year in the league and champions league. Both players have been in good form with their current clubs to date and are still relatively young and they would fit into the ethos at United. Therefore, they could be two transfers that Mourinho and co may pull off in the coming days or months.
