Reading have signed Portsmouth midfielder Hayden Mullins on loan as Pompey’s financial problems continue.
Portsmouth’s Player of the Season for last season has made the journey to the Madejski Stadium until the end of the season. The versatile defensive midfielder will be glad to swap a relegation scrap for a promotion push with 10 games of the season remaining.
Mullins, whose last appearance for Pompey was in fact, ironically, against the Royals on 6th March, follows the likes of Erik Huseklepp and Liam Lawrence as Portsmouth’s other big earners in moving on.
Royals director of football Nick Hamond told the club’s official website: “We are delighted that Hayden has signed.
“We have known him for a long time and he has come close to signing on a few occasions in the past. He has great experience and also versatility. Importantly, as a person he will also be a very good addition to our group.”
