Interim Republic of Ireland manager Noel King has announced his squad for the forthcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Germany and Kazakhstan.
The 56-year-old former Limerick manager traveled to England for talks with some of the players that fell out of favour with Trappatoni, among them Darron Gibson, Andy Reid, Anthony Stokes and Stephen Ireland with the only player not to be included is Stephen Ireland but its not clear if he was called up or declined joining the squad.
Irish fans will be delighted to see Gibson and Reid back in the team as there has been some major issues in the midfield over the last few matches. But people will be amazed that Paul McShane and Paul Green remain in contention to play under King.
Its going to be very tough for King who will be without the suspended Richard Dunne & John O’Shea along with the injured Robbie Brady for the trip to Germany. If the Republic Of Ireland can get away with a two or three goal defeat at the Rhein Energie Stadion on the 10th of October it will be seen as an acceptable result.
