The matches will take place on the 6th and 9th of October, with first time call-ups for two new names.
Republic of Ireland senior manager Martin O’Neill, who this morning signed a new deal with the FAI, has named a 33-man panel for Ireland’s upcoming 2018 World Cup group D qualifiers with Georgia and Moldova.
There are few surprises, as Darren Randolph, who is expected to continue between the posts, is named along with backup Keiren Westwood. One of just two new faces is that of former Irish U21 keeper Danny Rogers, currently plying his trade at Falkirk.
At the back, it’s pretty much as you were with experience aplenty. Brighton’s Shane Duffy is available once again following his suspension.
The midfield does see a new name and it is one that few will argue with. Conor Hourihane has been in stunning form for Championship side Barnsley so far this season, picking up the August Player of the Month award. He has been rewarded for his exemplary form with a first senior international call-up.
The forward line will see Daryl Murphy and Colorado Rapids man Kevin Doyle act as backups to first choice Shane Long and John Walters.
