Sunderland are the latest in a long line of clubs to be linked with a move for Celtic striker Gary Hooper.
The Black Cats manager Paolo Di Canio is keen on bringing in some striker to bolster his attack next season, and has set his sights on signing Gary Hooper from Celtic for a fee of around £7million.
If Sunderland can land the Englishman, they would be beating Norwich City to the signing of the talented star, after the Canaries had five bids turned down by Celtic in January.
Hooper is believed to be very keen on a Premier League move, as he attempts to earn himself an England call up ahead of the World Cup next year.
Sunderland managed just 41 goals in the league last season, whilst Hooper is a renowned goal-scorer in the SPL, scoring 82 times in 137 appearances.
There is expected to be a mass exodus from the Stadium of Light this summer, paving the way for new recruits and it would appear that Hooper is a wanted man.
