Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is planning a £12million double raid on Blackburn in order to keep his sides title charge on track.Club chairman Daniel Levy has given his manager the green light after the North London sides fantastic start to the season.
Redknapp is hoping to take advantage of Blackburn’s financial problems and snap up centre-half Samba and winger Hoilett on cheap deals.
The White Hart Lane boss feels that 27-year-old Samba is an ideal choice for his defence, where skipper Ledley King is fighting a constant battle for fitness and William Gallas and Michael Dawson are also struggling with injuries. Redknapp had an unsuccessful £16m bid for Bolton’s Gary Cahill in August, but will not try again as the player is almost certain to join Chelsea.
QPR have recently offered £6m for Samba, but the defender is unlikely to be tempted by the Premiership strugglers when he has the option of joining a top four club. Blackburn’s owners, Venky’s, are in desperate need of financial help, as the banks continue to call for their money. It is likely that Spurs can pick up the pair for bargain prices.
