Chelsea are eyeing up huge club record bid of £78 million for Real Madrid’s, James Rodriguez according to Spanish media.
Spanish newspaper, Sport are reporting that Chelsea are considering making a move of signing the talented Real Madrid and Columbian star and are willing to pay as much as £78 million for the player. The West London club are believed to be still in the market with new manager Antonio Conte set to bring in further reinforcements to bolster his squad. Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is another man of Conte’s hitlist and Chelsea are willing to spend up to £40 million on the Senegal international.
However, it now appears that Conte wants to add to his attack. The Stamford Bridge club have been linked with a move for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, but they may turn their focus to Rodriguez. The Columbian signed for Real Madrid from AS Monaco in 2014 for £63 million, following some great performances for Columbia at that year’s World Cup in Brazil. The gifted attacking midfielder impressed in his debut season at the Bernabeu, but has since struggled to name down a permanent starting position in Zidane’s side.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea will put a bid in and if Madrid will accept it.
