Transfer News: Chelsea linked with Real Madrid star

Transfer News: Chelsea are reportedly holding talks with Real Madrid in a deal that would see Ramires and Luka Modric switch clubs.

According to reports, Chelsea will have to fork out over £10 million plus Ramires to land the services of the Croatian playmaker next season.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has had his sights on Ramires for months, and they are rumoured to acquire the player while letting Modric move to Chelsea in a part exchange deal.

Modric’s form last season saw him nail down a place in Real Madrid’s starting XI. In 34 appearances in La Liga the Croatian found the net once and made six assists. He also scored a goal in their Champions League triumph.

Ramires has also secured a regular place in Chelsea’s midfield since moving to the Blues from Benfica in 2010. The Brazilian made 29 league starts last season scoring one goal and making two assists.
