Arsene Wenger had admitted his interest in Lille’s talented winger Eden Hazard.
The Belgian youngster has received plaudits throughout Europe and has been linked to some of the continent’s biggest clubs in recent times.
The 21-year-old has played for Lille throughout his career and has scored 38 goals in 174 appearances for the French side. Hazard has already played 25 times for Belgium and scored one goal.
The midfielder helped Lille claim the Ligue 1 title last year and also won the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year award.
Wenger told Belgian publication DH: “I really like [Hazard] and for several reasons. It’s his creative power, his ability to mis-align the opponent, his vision of the game and his consummate skill to address the last pass which make him a very interesting player”
