Barcelona star’s big decision: Play at the 2016 Copa America or the Olympic Games in Rio

The 2016 Copa America or the Olympic Games? That’s the decision awaiting Barcelona’s star striker Neymar insists Brazilian manager Dunga.

The 1994 World Cup winning captain is believes and says he would rather see Neymar compete for his country at the Rio Olympic Games this summer than play in the Copa America.

“If I have to choose between Copa America and the Olympics, I would prefer to see him (Neymar) in the Olympics,” said Dunga to Esporte Interativo TV station in Brazil.

“It’s hard to choose, but I think, given the importance of trying to win the only medal that Brazil does not have, the fact that we are playing at home. We need to talk to Barcelona, the team, Neymar, to see what is best for all three.”

Dunga is in Spain to speak to two of the three and while the player is adamant he will participate in both competitions, his employers Barcelona are keen to get their star player back in some physically fit state.

Neymar’s Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi has stated that he will play in the Copa America rather than the Olympics. The Argentine was part of the 2008 Argentina team to win the Olympic gold medal alongside Barca teammate Javier Mascherano in Beijing.
