The Guardian in England report that Jack Wilshere and Joe Hart have been left out of the England squad for the World Cup.
Wilshere has been left out having been named in the squad in the friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy in March but he withdrew due to injury. Wilshere has not played for England since Euro 2016 and only made 12 appearances in the Premier league this season for Bournemouth on loan.
In other team news Joe Hart is expected to be left out of the squad despite been one of the most experienced players that Southgate would be able to call on. The Guardian report that Hart who is on loan to Serie A side Torino was told by phone on Monday by Southgate that he will not required this summer at the World Cup. It is likely that Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope will take his place in the squad.
Fabian Delph is also reported to be named in the 23 man squad which Southgate will announce on Wednesday. Ryan Bertrand will not be in the squad, however Manchester United Ashley Young is set to be given a place on the plane to Russia. The Guardian report that Southgate will select Gary Cahill, John Stones and Harry Maguire as centre backs, while Kyle Walker and Eric Died who are certs to travel can also cover those positions.
