Tottenham Hotspur will travel to the London Stadium on Saturday at 12.30pm to play near neighbours West Ham. It will be Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge since he was appointed earlier this week. Spurs v West Ham promises to be an exciting encounter and we have a preview, betting news and teams.
This is a big game for both sides, more so probably West Ham, considering Jose Mourinho is in his first game and will not be expected to work miracles in 3 days since his appointment. Manuel Pellegrini will sure to come under pressure if the Hammers lose this one. The Argentine’s side have failed to win any of their last seven Premier League games. Their last win came against Manchester United at the end of September when they were 2-0 winners. Mourinho may not be under pressure as of yet with Spurs but his players are. They haven’t won a Premier League game since September also.
The last five meetings between Spurs v West Ham have seen mixed results. The most recent meeting between the sides was in April when West Ham won 1-0. Previous to that Spurs won 1-0 in 2018 and also drew 1-1.
Probable Teams/Team News
Teams have not been officially revealed by the sides but we can take a look at the probable starting XV’s.
West Ham will be without Lanzini after he picked up a broken collarbone against Burnley. Jack Wilshere, Winston Reid and Michail Antonio could all also return.
Probable Team: Roberto; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Masuaku; Rice, Snodgrass; Anderson, Fornals, Yarmolenko; Haller.
Tottenham will be without Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen. Therefore I expect Gazzingha to continue in goal, while Sanchez at centre back. In attack Harry Kane will lead the line.
Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose, Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Alli, Son; Kane.
Tottenham are 8/11 to win here. In contrast, West Ham are 16/5 outsiders. The draw is 3/1 which looks a good bet. However, I fancy Spurs to win 2-1 at 13/2.
