Connacht Rugby has announced that they will continue to partner with Bank of Ireland as a shirt sponsor after a deal was struck between the two parties to extend Connachts partnership with Bank of Ireland.

The partnership between the two will continue to see the Bank of Ireland logo on the back of the senior team for both men’s and women’s Connacht jerseys. Whilst also being extended to deliver significant support for the expanding youth and adult club competitions within the province.

Along with this news, Connacht Rugby has recently revealed their new away and European jerseys for the upcoming 2021/2022 season on their website.

Connacht’s Head of Commercial and Marketing Philp Patterson was more than happy with the extension, stating;

“Bank of Ireland have been a wonderful supporter of rugby in the West of Ireland and I’m delighted that both parties have agreed on an extension of our partnership. Supporters are well used to seeing the logo on the back of the men’s and women’s jerseys, and their support of Adult and Youth club competitions is also a significant boost. We look forward to continuing to grow our partnership in the years ahead.”

Connacht Rugby extends partnership with Bank of Ireland

Head of Bank of Ireland Galway, Marie Meehan spoke at the launch and said;

“Bank of Ireland is delighted to continue our partnership with Connacht Rugby for the next two seasons. We’ve been working together to make sure we can support them in their huge ambitions for their whole community. As a result, we will now be supporting the women’s team, expanding our current sponsorship of the men’s game, and sponsoring all club and community tournaments across Connacht.”

Connacht Rugby in partnership with BLK Sport, have recently launched their new ‘Away’ and ‘European’ jersey’s as part of their kit launch for the upcoming 2021/22 season.

The jerseys released are made from BLK’s Tricool Exotek fabric through the core of the jersey, matched together with Lycra panelling.

Tricool Exotek has been created exclusively for BLK to enhance athlete performance, whilst at the same time allowing for maximum player manoeuvrability.

For the ‘Away’ jersey reveal, the kit features a black base with green horizontal stripes across the main body, Connacht green gradient side panels with charcoal sleeves.

The jersey also features BLK’s unique silicon gel logo application and new BLK collar detail. The jersey will be worn when Connacht Rugby compete away in the newly formed United Rugby Championship this season.

The design of the new ‘European’ jersey features a strong new teal green with cool grey branding. The jersey also features BLK’s unique silicon gel logo application and new BLK collar detail. The jersey will be worn when Connacht Rugby compete in this seasons Champions Cup.

Head of Commercial and Marketing at Connacht Rugby Philip Patterson commented on the unveiling of the new jerseys saying;

The new jerseys are made in BLK’s improved Exotek fabric throughout the main body. Exotek was created exclusively for BLK to enhance athlete performance while maximizing player maneuverability.

The new home jersey features a blend of greens on the torso and main body, with a solid black shoulder and sleeve with fluro green trim. The jersey also features a unique silicon gel logo application and fluro green Connacht branding on the lower back. The new home jersey will be used for the first time when the Connacht Eagles take on Munster ‘A’ on the 19th of September in a behind closed doors pre-season fixture at The Sportsground. The new Away jersey will be worn the following week in the return fixture at Thomond Park.

The 2020/21 Away jersey brings a clean and classic look with a solid black base, featuring gold trim and detailing. The jersey also features a unique silicon gel logo application and gold Connacht branding on the lower back.
