Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United will go head-to-head on the Gameweek 10 of the 2021/2022 Premier League season.

This game will be an interesting game for both teams. The last time these two sides met was last April where Ole Gunnar Solskjaers came out 1-3 victors away from home. This is a far cry from their first encounter when United got thrashed 6-1 at Old Trafford in October.

Tottenham Hotspurs Retrospective

Tottenham currently sits 6th in the Premier League, winning 5 and losing 4 of their 9 games so far this season., although they have lost 3 out of their last 5 and are in desperate need of a win here.

Manchester United Retrospective

After high promise at the start of the season, United have hit a massive decline in form as of late. In the last outing, they lost 0-5 at home against Liverpool, fortunate to not have lost by more with the number of chances they gave Salah and company.

After their first nine games, they sit seventh in the table, having only won 4, drawing 2 and losing 3, picking up 14 points out of a possible 27.

Date, kick-off time and venue

This game between Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United will kick off at 5:30 pm BST (British Summer Time) on Saturday, October 30th, 2021, at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Where to watch Tottenham Hotspurs v Manchester United

The game will be live on Sky Sports Premier League and subsequent channel Sky Sports Main Event with coverage starting at 5:00 pm.

Tottenham Hotspurs v Manchester United team news

Spurs will be without Ryan Sessegnon with no specific date set for his return.

Paul Pogba will miss the game through suspension after being sent off for a nasty tackle on Liverpool’s Naby Keita.

Anthony Martial could play some part after picking up a knock. While Raphael Varane has a 50% chance of returning after a serious groin injury.

Tottenham Hotspurs v Manchester United Prediction

This is a close one to call, with both sides and especially their managers in dire need of a much-needed 3 points here to avoid any more mounting pressure on their positions.

With more pressure on Ole to pick up a win to ease the pressure, some of the players at his disposal look like they don’t want to play for him.

While Nuno Espirito Santos side has looked woeful so far under his management, with striker Harry Kane looking disinterested, scoring one league goal this campaign against relegation stricken Newcastle.

I can see it going either way but I am going for a Spurs win here.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-0

Arsenal are finally back to their winning ways in time for the North London Derby at home on week six of the Premier League

The match will kick off at 16:30 on Sunday 26th September in the Emirates Stadium with Craig Pawson as referee

Arsenal has started to turn the tides, coming out with victories in their last ties. One problem that still lies with the team is that they have not managed to win any game comfortably, only beating Norwich and Burnley by singular goals.

Mikel Arteta will want his strike force in high spirits to beat the France captain in goals and to possibly lift his team into the top half of the table.

After what was a perfect start to the season, Spurs’ last four games have been poor, not managing to win any in 90 minutes. The statistics look even worse in the Premier League, losing their last two games with a scoreline of 3-0.

They are still ahead of their local enemies by three points and six places in the table. Nuno Espirito Santo will need to reinvigorate his side if he wants to get any points from this fixture.

This has been a very tense and even affair for the last few years. In their last 27 meetings, both sides have won ten matches and there have been seven draws. Last year, the rivals shared the spoils with both teams winning their home fixture.

Derby matches stand out amongst a list of fixtures, form does not always matter and a lot can depend on the energy of the players and noise of the crowd. The Gunners’ home advantage could prove to be vital in this game, pushing on Arsenal’s full-strength side.

Expect an entertaining game that will end with Arsenal victorious at 2-1.

Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea will want to continue their long unbeaten run as they face Spurs away on week five of the Premier League

The match will kick off at 16:30 on Sunday 19th September in White Hart Lane with Paul Tierney as referee.

Nuno Espirito Santo surprised many by easily winning his first three games but this all change within a week. Firstly, a red card to Tanganga led to a humiliating defeat against Crystal Palace, next they had a tough draw in their first Europa Conference League game against Rennes.

Chelsea’s strong start has progressed into the Champions League after they beat Zenit St Petersburg on Tuesday. With four teams still joined at the top of the table with ten points. Tuchel’s men will want to pull away.

The squad’s injury list remains small as well as having good depth on their bench. They will look at this as a must win game.

The Blues are the major favourites in this London derby, as two longstanding Premier League clubs, they have faced each other many times. In their last 29 meetings, Chelsea has won an outstanding 14 of them. There have also been 10 draws while Spurs have only won five games.

Last season, two uninteresting sides ended 0-0 and 1-0 to Chelsea.

Injury problems have really hampered Tottenham’s chances even though they play at home. Espirito Santo will want his team to push on but a bad week of results may have knocked their confidence.

For the first time in 29 years, the Gunners will fall down in the rankings and be surpassed by bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal finally got some good news at the weekend after beating bottom place Norwich but now there is more bad news for the club.

After finishing in eighth place in the league last season, Mikel Arteta’s team failed to qualify for any European competition. This was the first time this had happened since Arsene Wenger took the job over 25 years ago.

They were only one point behind their North London rivals Tottenham who finished in seventh and qualified for the newly formed UEFA Europa Conference League.

Although this competition is not at the very highest standard, it will be enough for them to overtake Arsenal in the UEFA Rankings.

The Gunners are currently ranked in 12th place on this list. The places are based on European results in the last five years. Arsenal have a score of 80 points and will not be able to improve that this season.

Spurs were only two points behind their enemy but after the Europa Conference League begins, they will be boosted to 80.5 points. If they manage to progress far in this competition they could open up a large gap on Arsenal that could take years to resolve.

This shift in power is expected since the London Reds have not played in the Champions League since the 2016/2017 campaign. This is while Tottenham lost out in the final against Liverpool three years ago.

Neither side is still close to the top five teams which are made up of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Chelsea in that order. Real Madrid are in sixth place while a reemerging Manchester United are in eighth place.

This adds to what has already been a terrible year for Arsenal fans. After losing their opening three games, maybe their win will over Norwich will start them afresh.

Otherwise, the Gunners’ faithful will spend another year not celebrating St Totteringham’s day.

Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Harry Kane has confirmed that he will stay at the club this summer after Manchester City had several bids for him rejected.

City wanted Kane to replace Sergio Aguero as their number nine after the Argentinian’s departure.

The Spurs striker confirmed his intention to stay at the club on social media on Wednesday morning, ending a long transfer saga.

Kane said on his social media accounts: “It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks.

“I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success.”

The 28-year-old made his first appearance of the 2021/22 season against Wolves at the weekend.

The English forward came off the bench for the final 18 minutes of the game and picked up a yellow card in added time.

Kane did not travel to Portugal with his Spurs teammates for their Europa Conference League play-off first leg loss to Pacos de Ferreira.

The decision was made by Kane, manager Nuno Espírito Santo and the club.

This was on the back of his apparent refusal to turn up for pre-season training, with links to Manchester City still arising since last season where the striker contributed to 50 goals in 49 games.

Kane was not involved in his side’s opening day Premier League victory over Manchester City.

Manchester City have had several bids for the striker rejected this summer by Daniel Levy and Pep Guardiola has admitted he is interested in signing the England and Spurs captain.

The news of his non-departure comes as a surprise after everything that took place in the saga.

Kane will line out at White Hart Lane once again this season for Spurs.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has not travelled to Portugal with his Spurs teammates in Portugal for their Europa Conference League play-off match on Thursday.

Kane was named in Spurs’ 25-man Conference League squad but according to numerous reports, the England captain will stay in London to work on his fitness and sharpness after returning from holidays.

The decision was made by Kane, manager Nuno Espírito Santo and the club.

This is on the back of his apparent refusal to turn up for pre-season training, with links to Manchester City still arising since last season where the striker contributed to 50 goals in 49 games.

If the forward does play in the Conference League, it would not hamper any chances he has off taking part in the Champions League should a move to Manchester City happen.

The striker trained with his Tottenham teammates for the first time this season on Tuesday morning, after completing his period of isolation.

Kane was not involved in Spurs’ 1-0 opening day victory over Manchester City last Sunday, and with the likelihood, he will move on before the end of the current transfer window he may not play for his boyhood club again.

Manchester City reportedly had a £100 million offer for Kane rejected earlier this summer by Daniel Levy and co, with Pep Guardiola admitting he is interested in signing the England and Spurs captain.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell his prized asset for anything less than his set fee placed on him. Kane told Spurs at the end of last season he would like to leave to compete for the highest honours after failing to win any trophies with Spurs.

A gentleman’s agreement was reportedly made after Kane signed a six-year contract back in 2018, but Levy has rejected any bids so far for the striker.

Tottenham Hotspur striker and Manchester City target Harry Kane has trained with his Spurs teammates for the first time this season.

He returned to training with the squad after completing a period of isolation and is in line to make his first appearance for the side this week.

Kane had been staying at Spurs’ training ground hotel, The Lodge, after coming back to the UK from his holiday in the Bahamas, via Florida.

His holiday came after a long season for the Englishman that ended with a silver medal at UEFA Euro 2020.

The isolation period meant he was unable to train with his teammates in the lead-up to their Premier League opening weekend win over his potential suitors, Manchester City.

Kane returned to the Enfield Training Centre five days later than expected which sparked rumours that a move elsewhere was imminent.

Kane has told the club that he wants to leave but chairman Daniel Levy has ruled out the sale of the club’s star player, who has three years left on his contract.

Manchester City had a £100 million offer rejected by Tottenham earlier in the summer and are preparing a second bid for the striker.

City are on the search for a new striker after Sergio Aguero left the club this summer.

Brazilian Gabriel Jesus is also on the side’s books but boss Pep Guardiola opted for a false nine approach for much of last season with Aguero injured.

Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva were among the players to don the role in a season in which City dominated the domestic league and reached their first-ever UEFA Champions League final.

Kane’s possible involvement in Spurs’ UEFA Europa Conference league tie with Pacos de Ferreira will not rule him out of any Champions League action this season, should he join a side in the competition.

The transfer window closes in England on Tuesday, August 31 at 11:00 pm and it remains to be seen what ending one of its biggest sagas will have.

Viewers were treated to a handful of surprise results.

We’re now nearly a ⅓ of the way through the Premier League season, meaning many of those near the top of the table will be looking to establish themselves as title contenders going into January.

There were a number of captivating matches played today which sprung some surprise results.

Here’s how today’s Premier League games played out:

SOUTHAMPTON vs. SHEFFIELD UNITED

The 12 o’clock kick off featured a jubilant Southampton against a lowly Sheffield United side.

Southampton have started the season very well. Prior to kick off, they collected 20 points from just 11 matches. Sheffield United, on the other hand, could hardly have started the season any worse. They only picked up 1 point in 11 games which is in complete contrast to the start they had last season.

Thing didn’t get much better for The Blades today as they were easily beaten 3-0.

Che Adams opened the scoring in the 34th minute after latching on to a deflection of his teammate Jan Bednarek.

Stuart Armstrong was fortunate to get the 2nd goal of the game as his shot from outside the box trickled into the net from a deflection.

Nathan Redmond completed the rout in the 83rd minute with a placed shot into the bottom corner.

Southampton now sit 4th in the Premier League table after tonight’s result. Sheffield United remain bottom. Although the season is only early yet, Sheffield United will need a miracle to stay up based on their form thus far. They were never prolific goalscorers last season but their defensive structure ensured the team a comfortable survival. This season, they have neither of the above.

CRYSTAL PALACE vs. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Tottenham faced a difficult trip to Selhurst Park today as they looked to solidify their place as the top of the table.

Both teams have started the season well – particularly Tottenham – and would have been confident going into the match. Crystal Palace had the added boost of fans being on their side for the first time this season.

It was Tottenham who opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, though. Harry Kane struck from range and his shot was completely misjudged by Crystal Palace keeper Vicente Guaita before hitting the back of the net. Guaita had produced a number of good saves prior to the goal so for him to concede in that fashion was unfortunate.

Crystal Palace weren’t going to lie down and accept defeat, though. They had a couple of chances to equalize until they got their goal in the 81st minute, and through an unlikely source. Jeffrey Schlupp equalised after confusion in the box from a free kick to score his first goal of the season.

As mentioned before, Vicente Guaita made a succession of good saves before his mistake led to the opening goal. He more than made up for his mistake with a handful of outstanding saves in the dying embers of the game. He made one particular save from a Harry Kane free kick which could be a contender for save of the season. The Spaniard looked beaten as Kane’s free kick was heading to the corner but he showed supreme agility and reflexes to tip the ball over the bar.

The match finished 1-1 to Spurs. They were still top of the table, but Liverpool were to play later and if they collected all 3 points that position would change hands.

FULHAM vs. LIVERPOOL

Fulham have looked good at times this season, but have struggled to pick up points despite their impressive performances.

Both teams needed a win today but for different reasons, Liverpool had the chance of going top of the league while Fulham could have moved comfortably out of the relegation zone.

The match wasn’t as straightforward as Liverpool would have liked, with Fulham creating most of the good, early chances. Fulham had a number of shots but failed to find the back of the net. That is until the 25th minute. Bobby Decordova-Reid was played through on goal and he smashed his shot into the corner, leaving the returning Alisson with no chance.

Fulham could have easily gone 2-0 up not too long afterwards after uncharacteristically poor defending from Andy Robertson afforded Ivan Cavaleiro a chance from close range. His shot, though, was too close to the keeper and Alisson dealt with the chance routinely.

Liverpool had a handful of chances to equalize, but their goal didn’t come until the 79th minute. They had their share of the luck as they were awarded a penalty after a handball in the box. Mohamed Salah then stepped up to take and *just* slotted past the Fulham keeper.

Liverpool now sit on level points with Tottenham having failed to take their opportunity to go top. Fulham currently sit 18th, just inside the relegation zone.

ARSENAL vs. BURNLEY

Both teams have had unremarkable seasons thus far this season. Arsenal, in particular, have been poor and are performing well below expectations.

The first half was predictably uneventful, with chances hard to come by for both teams. The second half, though, produced a series of talking points.

The first of which came in the 58th minute as Granit Xhaka was sent off for a second yellow after unnecessarily handling his opponent by the throat. His dismissal made it even more difficult for Arsenal to get a result, having played with little conviction even beforehand.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ended his goal drought in the 73rd minute. He would have, however, preferred it to go into the other net. The Gabon international scored an own goal as he headed past Bernd Leno from a Burnley corner.

Robbie Brady cleared off the line in the dying embers of injury time to ensure a Burnley victory.

Burnley’s win moves them out of the relegation zone while Arsenal loom dangerously over it. Making matters worse, Arsenal have an unenviable schedule going into the Christmas period including a succession of games against Southampton, Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool.

LEICESTER vs. BRIGHTON

Leicester have started this season on a high and, although it’s a long shot, could be potential title contenders with consistency in their performances. Contrastingly, Brighton haven’t made the best start to the season, despite playing good football at times.

Leicester hit the front in the 27th minute through a James Maddison deflected strike. The midfielder was left out of the latest England squad, so he’ll be hoping his performance can impress enough to warrant his inclusion in the next one.

Jamie Vardy scored his 12th goal of the season in the 41st minute to double Leicester’s advantage.

James Maddison completed his brace and the scoring on the night in the 44th minute. What a goal it was as well. He made some space for himself just inside the box using his trickery before curling his shot into the top corner leaving no chance for the keeper.

Leicester’s win tonight leaves them 3rd in the Premier League table, just 1 point behind Spurs and Liverpool. Brighton remain just above the relegation zone with 10 points from 12 games.

Gareth Bale scores winner against Brighton

A goal that was scored in North London, but made in Madrid. Fellow summer recruit Sergio Reguilón cut in on his weaker foot and delivered an inviting cross which Gareth Bale converted. A difficult finish made to look easy. Both players arrived from Real Madrid and while Bale has had to wait patiently to make his impact, Reguilón has caught the eye on several occasions thus far.

Bale’s winning goal was his first in a Spurs’ shirt for seven and half years. Yet the Welshman celebrated like it was his first for the club, brimming with joy as he embraced his teammates. All that was missing was a ‘genuine’ roar from the fans, but for now the piped-in noise will suffice.

Although seven years have elapsed since his last game for the club, the spark still remains and Spurs’ fans can’t help but express their excitement at the prospect of Son, Kane and Bale leading the line.

Bale will feel he still has a lot to prove, especially to Real Madrid fans. Even his new boss Jose Mourinho was intrigued to see how Madrid would react to their former player’s first goal of the season: “When I have five minutes I’m going to Safari to look at Madrid websites to see what they say”. A cheeky swipe at his old club from Mourinho, who continued by reiterating that “he (Bale) knows we care about him”.

Tottenham Hotspurs 2-1 Brighton Hove Albion

The game itself was a relatively tight affair. Spurs left it late against Burnley on Monday evening and this game had a similar feel to it. Harry Kane netted Spurs’ first from the penalty spot. Kane was bundled over on the edge of Brighton’s box by Adam Lallana. The former Liverpool man was adjudged to have fouled Kane, however from the replay it appeared that the striker went looking for the foul.

Brighton came back into the game after conceding, and got their equaliser early in the second half thanks to a well-placed finish from full-back Tariq Lamptey. Again controversy surrounded this goal. Despite a VAR review of Solly March’s badly-timed tackle on Pierre Højbjerg in the build-up, the goal stood.

The tide turned again. Erik Lamela and Harry Kane were both denied by the woodwork. With twenty minutes left on the clock, Gareth Bale arrived onto the pitch and grabbed the winner. Inspired by the number nine on his back, Bale created some space in Brighton’s box and headed home Reguilón’s cross.

The win takes Spurs up to second place in the league, two points behind leaders Liverpool. A strong start to the season for Mourinho’s men.
