Blue skies have been sighted over Punchestown racecourse just in time for the big one – the Punchestown Festival Ladies day featuring the Rabobank Champion Hurdle. A huge crowd is anticipated at the Kildare track for what has become an annual social highlight featuring the grande finale of the Coast Best Dressed Lady Competition.
Further to what can only be described as extremely challenging weather in recent days the track was passed as fit for racing at 8am this morning. The first of a five race card, the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase, will go to post at 4.55 and gates will open at 1pm. A huge entertainment programme will be in place for all racegoers with live music, street theatre, festival shopping village, D.J’s and much more throughout the enclosures.
A bus service is available from Dublin city centre on Aston Quay at 1pm, 2pm and again at 3pm to transfer racegoers to the door of Punchestown.
