The date for this year’s Irish World Cup Qualifying round for the Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup 2012 has been announced.
The qualifying event will take place on Thursday, June 7th at 18:30 in Leisureplex Stillorgan.
Bowlers play six games, with the top three in both the male and female sections progressing to the stepladder finals.
Third plays second in a one-game playoff to determine who faces the leading qualifier in the grand final.
The grand final is played over two games, with the highest combined pinfall over these two games being the winner.
Winners in both the male and female sections will represent Ireland in the Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup, which takes place in Wroclaw, Poland, from November 24th to December 2nd 2012.
Last year’s Irish representatives Alan Bride and Hannah Cullen are both expected to return to attempt to make it back-to-back appearances on the world stage, as well as pick up Team Ireland ranking points in the first ranking tournament for the 2013 season.
