London manager Éamonn Phelan has stated his satisfaction at the Exiles’ preparations for this year’s Christy Ring Cup which gets underway this weekend against Meath in Navan.
The exiles have been boosted by the return of star forward Martin Finn for the second tier hurling clash.
Phelan also believes that his charges are well motivated for the clash at Páirc Tailteann: “We’ve done as much as we can at this stage so we’ve no complaints. We’re happy enough going into this weekend,” stressed Phelan.
“The motivation here will come from just wanting to go as far as we can in this. We’ll give it a lash over the next six weeks and try to go the whole way. We expect to go over there on Sunday and win. We’ll be disappointed if we don’t win.”
The winners of the month long Christy Ring competition will progress to the (first tier) Liam McCarthy competition for 2013.
