Tipperary’s 2010 All Ireland winning Hurling Manager Liam Sheedy and GAA’s National Hurling Coordinator Paudie Butler are to act as mentors for the development of Hurling in Tyrone.
Tyrone County Board chairman Ciaran McLaughlin said in a statement on the county’s official website: “The aim of this programme is to significantly increase the participation and enjoyment of playing and learning the game of hurling for children between the ages of 7 and 13 years of age. If we can do that then we’ve achieved something tangible and something that can be built upon. We’re delighted to have two men of the calibre of Liam Sheedy and Paudie Butler involved.”
All GAA clubs in Tyrone are asked to bring along ten U12 players and five or six adults who may be willing to give the game a go.
The event will take place at Killyclogher, this Saturday 12th May from 9:30a.m.
