Manchester City Manager Roberto Mancini has stated that Mario Balotelli will be staying at Manchester City.
Just over a month ago everything was going wrong for Roberto Mancini and Manchester City. The finger of blame was pointed at the ego orientated player, Mario Balotelli. The Italian was at the centre of drama and controversy for much of this season. After City slipped eight points behind rivals Manchester United, Mancini had suggested the player would not be staying at the club for next season and maybe sold. This was in conjunction with his mindless red card in the game against Arsenal which City went on to lose.
However, just over a month later and after City made a dramatic comeback to clinch their first Premier league title and league title in over 40 years, all seems to be forgiven for Balotelli. Mancini told Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’m going to be honest, we haven’t looked at the market yet. In the last five weeks our only focus has been the league. Mario has been very clear and I reiterate: Balotelli will remain at Manchester 101%.”
Balotelli is a very volatile player who seems to be only concerned with his own agenda. Is he the right player to help Mancini build his team for future success? Reports had linked Mancini with buying Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, it appears since they have clinched the title this season it has softened the impending blow that was coming to Balotelli. In relation to Balotelli; “He just needs to make his brain work. That is his only problem” stated Mancini.
