The man with the weight of a sporting nation resting on his shoulders when he gets legged up on Black Caviar this Saturday, Luke Nolan, feels that the Ascot track will hold no problems for the wonder mare.
Black Caviar will be bidding to stretch her unbeaten sequence to 22 when she lines up in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes on Saturday and Nolan, speaking to the Racing Post, is confident that the mare will handle the unique challenges that Royal Ascot will present.
“Black Caviar looks great and has travelled over well. She probably had a lot less to drink on the plane than I did!
“”I know Pete’s very happy with her. I rode her in her last gallop before she left and she was in very good nick.
“I’m not worried too much about the undulations as she travels very well and takes a big stride. She goes great on straight tracks at home and she is the highest-rated in the race.”
