Cirrus set to miss International clash with Frankel

High class French gelding Cirrus Des Aigles is set to miss the Juddmonte International at York and by extension a clash with the unbeaten wonder horse known as Frankel.

The Corine Barande-Barbe trained horse has been off the track since finishing behind Golden Lilac in the Prix d’Ispahan at the end of May and Barande-Barbe feels that the 1m 2f Group 1 at York will come a little too quick for her stable star.

“”I’ve talked to the owners and it’s just not going to be possible,” she confirmed.

“It would have been something of a comeback, and, against Frankel, there would be no point if he wasn’t really ready. The horse is very well but it will come too soon.”

She did confirm that the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown could be a possible for her horse saying “”Leopardstown is still a possibility, we’ll have to see how his training goes. Wherever he runs will be like a reappearance.”
