Éamon O’Shea confirmed as new Tipperary manager

RTÉ Sport has confirmed that Éamon O’Shea has been ratified as the new Tipperary senior hurling manager.

The news was announced via the Tipperary GAA twitter page following the September county board meeting and sees O’Shea confirmed as Declan Ryan’s successor.

The NUIG professor met with the members of the selection committee last week and previously worked with Liam Sheedy during his time in charge.

Michael Ryan, who also served under Sheedy, and former player Eamonn Corcoran have been mentioned as his potential management team.

A Tipperary press release stated: “The other members of Eamon’s management team will be selected in due course and recommended to county board for ratification.

“Tipperary county board is delighted that a man of Eamon’s ability and experience has agreed to take on the important and voluntary role of managing the Tipperary senior hurling team.

“The board wishes him every success and assures him of their full support and encouragement as he seeks to build on the team’s many successes in the last five years.”
