James Masters to concentrate on triathlons

Former Cork footballer, James Masters, has confirmed that he will not line out with club side,Nemo Rangers, this season as he has decided to concentrate on competing in iron-man triathlons.

The 28-year-old Garda joins a list of Nemo players to withdraw their services, including Derek Kavanagh and Martin Cronin who’ve both retired.

Masters missed much of 2010 through injury and only made substitute appearances in both the county and provincial championships.  Masters played a key role in helping Rangers win five counties and three Munster titles in recent seasons. He also won three Munster medals and a national league with Cork senior footballers. In addition to those honours,he captained the minors to the All-Ireland in 2000.
