Kilkenny star Henry Shefflin made his return to competitive action for his club Ballyhale Shamrocks, in last nights Kilkenny Senior Hurling League tie against Dunamaggin.
It was the players first appearance since he was forced out of last years All Ireland Final through injury. Shefflin appeared as a second-half substitute, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Ballyhale losing the match by 1-10 to 0-11. Cats boss, Brian Cody will be pleased that his star man has returned, as Kilkenny begin to pick up the pieces from their League Final drubbing.
Cody is hoping that Shefflin will be available for the Leinster final,on July 3rd, should Kilkenny reach the provincial decider.
The player has spent the last eight months in intensive therapy with Limerick-based physio Ger Hartmann and certainly seems to be making an excellent recovery.
