Sligo Rovers moved to within 5 points of leaders Shamrock Rovers with a 4-0 win over UCD at the showgrounds.
A Raffaele Cretaro brace coupled with efforts from Eoin Doyle and substitute Daryl Hogan sealed a comfortable home win to move Sligo level on points with third place Derry City.
A lacklustre opening half that saw little in the way of chances came to life just before the break when Cretaro scored with a nice finish and the lead was doubled in injury time when Doyle scored Rovers second.
Hogan’s 68th minute effort, direct from a corner, sealed the points before Cretaro added a superb fourth to put the icing on a big win.
For UCD however it’s back to basics as they try to plug a defence that has conceded 10 goals in their last two league games and 39 so far in 18 games.
