Connacht coach Eric Elwood is pleased thus far with how his side have gelled this pre-season.
The province, who will play in the Heineken Cup for this first time this year, have been heavily involved in brining in new players like Henry Fa’afili and Ethienne Reynecke into their squad and Elwood is happy with how things are going so far.
Despite losing a number of home grown players to Leinster and Munster during the close season Elwood had bought smartly himself and is beginning to see what his new signing can bring to Connacht.
Speaking on their offical website Elwood said “”We’re very happy with how the squad has gelled together, it can be difficult when you have 15 new players coming into a squad but they’ve put in a huge effort over the last two weeks and we’re very happy with how things are progressing.
“The squad are getting on well together and we’ll continue pushing the lads over the next few weeks to get the best out of them.”
Connacht will soon have a chance to see how far they have progressed when the play Ireland in a World Cup warm up game in the Sportsground on the 18th of August.
