Preview: Bohemians v Galway

Bohemians are looking for a fourth successive league against crisis torn Galway tonight at Dalymount Park.

The westerners are on a run of 15 league defeats but however their last win did come on 25th March when they beat Bohemians at home with a Joseph Yoffe goal.

In the past week they have lost a raft of players as they have put the entire squad up for sale with wages going unpaid.

Bohs have had convincing wins over Bray, Drogheda and Dundalk in the last three weeks and are unbeaten in six successive games at home since May.

Over the same period there have been strong performances by sides largely made up of A-team players in a friendly against Dundee United and a Leinster Senior Cup win this week over Shamrock Rovers.

Galway United have caused Bohemians problems in recent seasons winning their last three league games at Dalymount. Bohemian manager Pat Fenlon insists there are no easy games in the league and he will keep his players focused on the task.

For once Fenlon can focus on the football as Galway appear in an even worse state financially than Bohs.

He has some selection issues for this match as three midfielders, Glenn Cronin, Robert Bayly and Lee Dixon, are suspended. Stephen Hurley could make his first league start at home and Mark Rossiter, who was rested last week for the Dundalk match, is likely to be back in action.

If Owen Heary returns to the team after also being rested last week, Ger O’Brien could be moved into midfield. O’Brien proved his attacking credentials with his first goal for Bohemians last Friday, one day before his 27th birthday.
Midfielder Ryan McEvoy, who scored the crucial equaliser in the Leinster Senior Cup game on Monday, may get his first call-up to the senior squad this season ahead of his 21st birthday in ten days’ time.

With Flood and Fagan in top form and new signing Aidan Downes also available, Fenlon has several options in attack.

Goalkeeper Chris O’Connor remains out with the facial injury received against Sligo Rovers four weeks ago. will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
