Former Irish under 21 International Mark Yeates is set to become Watford first signing under Sean Dyche.
The 26 year old is currently with Sheffield United who were relegated to league one last season however he looks set for a swift return to the Championship with Watford set to pay around £300,000 pounds for his signature.
Yeates only just joined the Blades last season having falling out of favour at Middlesbrough. He began his career with Spurs enjoying loan spells with Leicester, Hull, Brighton, Colchester and Swindon before making a permanent move to then league one side Colchester.
It was with the U’s his enjoyed his most prolific spell of football, scoring the first competitive goal at the clubs new stadium, and his form caught the eye of Middlesbrough however the move soon turned sour with Yeates struggling to hold down a starting place.
He the moved to Sheffield United, however despite showing patches of form he was again in and out of the side and couldn’t help them retain their Championship status.
Yeates has yet to be capped at full international level for Ireland but has played for the Ireland B team.
