Cody happy with hard fought affair

Kilkenny boss Brian Cody has said that yesterday’s win over Waterford in the hurling semi final was a hard fought affair and well earned by the cats.

“We got a good contest,” said Cody. “Waterford were really, really serious opposition for us today.

“It was never a game you could say we were comfortable in even though we had a reasonable lead for most of the second half.”

Cody admitted that while his side never really allowed the Deise take control, they wasted a number of chances and could have closed out the game sooner.

“I was happy enough that we had a decent bit of a cushion even though I suppose we weren’t playing terrifically well,” he said. will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
