Fernandes to fund QPR Parker move

According to reports in the Evening Standard, QPR could launch an £8 million bid for West Ham’s Scott Parker if, Tony Fernandes’ bid to buy the club is confirmed on Thursday.

The Malaysian airline entrepreneur is set to buy a 51% stake from majority owner, Bernie Ecclestone, with a press conference scheduled for Thursday morning.

Should the move by Fernandes become a reality then the low-cost airline AirAsia owner will hand Neil Warnock the money required to pull off the signing of England international Parker, in what would be a serious statement of intent from the Londoners.

The 30-year-old is keen to move back to the Premier League to help his chances of being picked for the national side.
