Former champion jockey Ryan Moore is making good progress with injury and is hopeful of a return to the saddle before the end of the season.
Moore broke both his humerus and thumb in a three-horse pile-up at Goodwood on July 30, and the injuries ended all hopes that he had of winning the championship for a fourth time.
Although it is not yet clear if he will return in time to partner Workforce in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October, his father, trainer Gary Moore, has said that his son is doing really well.
“I’ve spoken to Ryan this afternoon and he’s told me the specialist was very pleased with the X-ray results and happy with the amount of movement he had in his upper shoulder,” said Moore senior.
“He’ll see the specialist again in two weeks and we’ll know more again then.”
