While Ireland continue on their World Cup journey the IRFU is planning for further success down the road with the launch of Vision 2020 which will research and engage with all strands of the Irish Rugby community and the general public.
The research, the first of its kind in the IRFU, will look at where rugby stands in Ireland currently and where it will be in 2020 and beyond. Some of the main objectives of the research will be to
Research throughout the island into how sport and rugby in particular are perceived by the ordinary person.
Research within the Rugby Ireland family.
Research into the National and International trends in society, sport and rugby.
Research into all the visual communication streams within Rugby in Ireland.
Speaking in a statement released today the IRFU said “As caretakers of the legacy of rugby on this island we are mindful of our responsibility to leave our sport stronger and better directed as we pass over the sport to the generations to come. In times like this it is important that we consider our long term future and develop a well drawn roadmap to guide us there.”
