Former British champion jockey Ryan Moore’s representatives have denied speculation that the jockey has signed a retainer to become number one rider for Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle stable.
Moore, who currently rides the majority of Sir Michael Stoute’s inmates, has been linked with the high profile job throughout the season. There was further talk of the move on Friday morning, leading to the statement from Moore’s people.
The jockey’s commercial agent Johnno Spence wrote on Twitter: “Subject to speculation in a national newspaper today, Ryan Moore has NOT signed as the new Ballydoyle stable jockey.”
A spokeswoman for Spence added: “He has not signed for Ballydoyle and the rumours are not true.
“He will be remaining in Newmarket, as far as we are aware, for the foreseeable future. Johnno spoke to Ryan this morning.”
Moore, missed the last three months because of injury but prior to the setback, he had ridden several O’Brien stars this season.
