Arsenal ready to offload Chamakh

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks set to offload striker Marouane Chamakh in the January transfer window.

According to reports in the Daily Mail, Wenger has lost patience with the Moroccan international who arrived in London less than 18 months ago as one of the most sought after players in Europe.

The striker, who joined the club from Bordeaux in July on a free transfer made an explosive start to life with Arsenal scoring 11 goals in his opening 22 games.

However since then he has scored just twice in 31 appearances for the Gunners and such as been his slump in form that Arsenal are now ready to listen to offers for the 27-year-old.

Nominated for 2011 Realex Web Awards
