The French international was reportedly a target for the Gunner’s during the summer however he remained with his side, Lyon, for whom he has impressed since joining in 2010.

According to Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Auslas, Arsenal reportedly made an offer for the 25-year-old former AC Milan and Bordeaux star which he turned down during the summer, “There was demand from Arsenal but I said no,” he said. There was demand from Arsenal but I said no,” he said.

“He is under contract for five years and he wants to be a success at Lyon. I have complete faith in him.

“In time, I am convinced that there will be no more questions about him.”
