2012 Derby favourite runs on Saturday

Leading fancy for the 2012 Investec Derby, Camelot heads the declarations for Saturday’s Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.

The son of Montjeu made a winning debut at Leopardstown in July and shot to the head of the Derby market, for which he is the 16-1 ante post favourite. His trainer Aidan O’Brien, also has entered Royal Lodge winner Daddy Long Legs, Tibet and Learn.

Two colts that have beensupplemented for the race, are the Jim Bolger-trained Zip Top who carries the colours of Sheikh Mohammed, and Godolphin’s Encke from Mahmood al Zarooni’s Godolphin yard.

Another interesting entry is the John Gosden-trained Fencing, who, like Camelot, is as short as 16-1 for the Derby next June.
