Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they are investigating allegations that Chelsea captain John Terry racially abused QPR’s Anton Ferdinand during Sunday’s game at Loftus Road.
Video has emerged online that is alleged to show Terry calling Ferdinand a 2black c***” but the England international has categorically denied that he used any racial term in the exchange during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat.
‘I’ll do whatever it takes to clear my name and I don’t have anything to hide. I’m not taking that level of abuse.
‘Anton and I spoke for 10 minutes in the dressing room after the game and there is no issue between us. It’s finished.’
The Daily Mail reports that Terry’s legal team are preparing to take a witness statement from team-mate Ashley Cole.
Ferdinand is thought to have wanted the night to consider what action to take and is due to meet QPR officals with manager Neil Warnock later today though that was before confirmation that the police had become involved in the incident.
