Republic of Ireland squad to play Estonia

Giovanni Trappatoni has named the Republic of Ireland squad for the Euro 2012 play-off matches against Estonia.

There were no surprises with Leon Best and Anthony Stokes not getting a call up, Trap is hoping the Robbie Keane will be fit after resuming light training with LA Galaxy.

Ireland secured their play-off spot earlier in October by clinching second place in their qualification group behind leaders Russia.

They will face Estonia on Friday, November 11 (away) and on Tuesday, November 15 (home) to determine which of the nations seal a a place in the finals to be held in Ukraine and Poland next year.

Making the announcement, the Republic of Ireland manager said, “There is no room for complacency as we prepare for our two games next month. We will remember that Estonia have as much right to be in the play-off as ourselves. They have had some very good results in their group beating Serbia and Slovenia. They also caused Italy a lot of problems. These games will be a huge challenge for us, and we must maintain the correct mentality from start to finish.”
