Chelsea team to play Genk, Cristal Arena, 7:45pm:
Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, Luiz, Bosingwa, Romeu, Ramires, Malouda, Meireles, Torres, Anelka Subs: Turn, JT, McEach, Lamps, Mata, Kalou, Sturr

Chelsea could all but secure their progression from Group E when they take on Belgian minnows FC Genk, kick off 7.45pm. Following Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal, this is the perfect game for the Blues to get back on track.

They beat Genk 5-0 last time out at the Bridge and will be disappointed with anything less than three points. Genk are yet to win a match in this year’s Champions League and have conceded seven goals in their opening three games but five of those were shipped at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be without Didier Drogba for the trip after Andre Villas-Boas confirmed the striker underwent surgery on his arm while Michael Essien remains side lined. Ramires won’t be risked by Chelsea after recovering from an injury he picked up a few weeks back against Everton.

Fernando Torres should keep his place up front despite a poor display against Arsenal.

FC Genk will be in good spirits after a pulsating 5-4 away victory against rivals Club Brugge at the weekend.

Manager Mario Breen has no new injuries worries and as well as been cheered on by 24,000 fans in the Cristal Arena but also Valencia as the Spanish side lie behind Chelsea in Group E.

Despite their weekend heroics, Genk has managed just two wins in their last seven games in all competitions. Chelsea boasts the second best defensive record in the Champions League this season, conceding just one goal, only Real Madrid can better that.

Genk are yet to score in this year’s Champions League, where as its counterparts has already bagged eight goals in three games.

Chelsea should win this game but expect a dull game. The home side have yet to score and Chelsea will look to kill the game off early. 2-0 Chelsea.
