Rovers make double signing

Sligo Rovers have completed the double signing of Gary Rogers and Romauld Boco ahead of the 2012 Airtricity Premier Division season.

30 year old Rogers joins from St Patrick’s Athletic after three seasons in Richmond Park while Boco, nicknamed the “King of Benin”, makes rejoins the club for the third time moving from Chinese club Shanghai East Asia.

The pair are the fourth new signings for 2012 following in the footsteps of Mark Quigley and Danny North who have recently signed with the club.

Speaking at the announcement of the signings Sligo manager Paul Cook said: “Gary brings with him a decade of experience in the league and has been consistently one of the best goalkeepers around.

“I’m delighted to bring Romauld back to Sligo. He was keen to re-join the club and I know he is determined to do well for us again.

“We want to improve the squad and I think everyone knows what he brings us.

“The squad is coming together and I think it shows the type of player we want at Sligo Rovers.”

“We have put together the basis of a good squad. I’m happy with the business we have done so far and I think it will excite our supporters.”
