Quito De La Roque and Jessies Dream have both been ruled out of Sunday’s Irish Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown.
Both horses had been well fancied for the Grade 1 on Sunday, however the pair will now miss the race after failing to please connections on Wednesday.
Quito De La Roque will not make the race following a bad scope, his trainer Colm Murphy revealed.
Speaking about the Gigginstown House Stud-owned eight-year-old, Murphy said “”He scoped badly on Wednesday and won’t be running on Sunday.”
Jessies Dream trainer Gordon Elliot meanwhile admitted that his star chaser may not make it to the track this season at all. “”Unfortunately he won’t be running on Sunday. I just wasn’t happy with him this morning.
“He was in great form and schooled really well but today there was no sparkle so at this stage, with time against us, I’m not sure he will make the track at all this season.”
