Dublin hurling manager Anthony Daly has confirmed that young stars Liam Rushe and Peter Kelly will miss the weekend’s National League game through injury. They were injured in the defeat to Galway last weekend.
Rushe, who had recovered from a hand injury, was forced off with a hip problem against Galway and could in fact miss the remainder of the National League campaign. He is definitely out of the next game (against Cork) though is also likely to miss the clashes with Kilkenny and Tipperary. The early indications are that he might be available for Dublin’s final group game, against Waterford on April 1.
21 year-old midfielder Rushe has been ruled out for two to three weeks with a medial knee injury. It compounds an already difficult situation for the Dubs who are now set to be without nine first team regulars for the majority of the remainder of the league campaign. Manager Anthony Daly has: “At this stage of this season, this is the last thing we need.”
