Lucas Moura’s agent has claimed that Sao Paolo have rejected a €25million bid from Milan for the young star.
Wagner Ribeiro (Moura’s agent) has said that Sao Paolo officials met with Inter chairman Marco Branca but that talks broke down without an offer being accepted.
“Branca made a €25 million offer in January. However, president Juvencio Juvenal decided not to sell him,” Ribeiro told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It seems as if the deal is not dead however because the 19 year-old has said he would “love” to join Inter in the summer.
Moura acknowledges that he has a long way to go before reaching the standards of compatriot Kaká however; who was a star for city rivals AC Milan for six years: “My dream after the Olympics is to join Inter, but I am no Kaka,” Lucas is quoted as saying. “I need to become more clinical in front of goal; sometimes I am not effective enough.”
Inter look like they are in need of fresh striking options because star striker Argentinian Diego Milito is now 33 years-old and missed several gilt edged chances at San Siro as Marseilles came out the right side of a 2-2 aggregate result; which was enough to knock the Nerazzurri out of the 2011-’12 Champions League at the Last 16 stage on away goals.
