Team news ahead of the FA Cup Quarter Final clash between Liverpool and Stoke
Carling cup winners Liverpool and last year’s FA Cup runners up Stoke clash on Sunday looking to claim a place in the semi final of the FA cup.
This will be the fourth time that the teams have met this season with Liverpool failing to beat Sunday’s visitors in the league, losing 1-0 away and drawing at home however they did manage some success beating the Potters on their way to their Carling cup win.
Craig Bellamy looks set to return to the Reds line after he missed the midweek win over Everton. Daniel Agger misses out once again with a rib injury as does Glenn Johnson.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish confirmed that they would access the fitness of Bellamy before finalising his team saying “Glen has got a niggle, Bellers had a niggle the other night. We’ll wait and see.
“Daniel is not available while his rib heals. Fabio Aurelio is back training and Jack Robbo will be back training on Monday.”
Tony Pulis meanwhile will be out Ricardo Fuller following his sending off in the narrow defeat to Chelsea last weekend.
Pulis has confirmed that Thomas Sorensen will replace Asmir Begovic between the sticks telling the club’s official site, Asmir has done really, really well since he came back into the League side,” he added. “He’s refreshed and he’s certainly made the most of that chance, but I’ve no problem with bringing Thomas back for this one as we did throughout the cup run last season and as we have done again in cup matches this season.”
