Liverpool could lose young star Raheem Sterling as Kenny Dalglish continues to ignore the England U-18 international.
The 17 year-old is reported as being Liverpool’s “next big star” but is said to be frustrated by a chronic lack of first team opportunities and will move on in the summer if he gets a guarantee of first team football elsewhere.
Two years ago; Liverpool paid £150,000 to QPR to sign the then 15 year-old who is thought not to have settled on Merseyside. The deal is said to possibly increase to up to £6million but the youngster’s representatives have said that Liverpool have “broken promises” with regards to his level of involvement in the first team this season.
In February 2011, he looked set to become the youngest player in Liverpool’s history – at 16 years and 71 days – when he was named in the squad to face Sparta Prague in the Europa League. He is yet to make his first team debut however. If he does not get a run in the first team before the end of the season then he is certain to move on in the summer and will not be short of big name suitors. The teenager is said to favour a return to the capital.
