Celtic are in talks with unattached Scottish winger James McFadden.
He was released by Birmingham during the summer despite being one of their stars during their return to the Premier League two years ago. A long term injury kept him out of much of last season and therefore he was let go by the midlands club.
The 28 year old was poised to sign for Wolves after a successful trial with the club but talks broke down it seems and now a return to Scotland is on the cards for a player whose career has hit a wall.
He played for Motherwell before moving to Everton and there are strong reports that he will join the Park Head club.
He scored Scotland’s famous winner in the Stade de France during a World Cup qualifier as the Scots won 1-0.
Some of Celtic’s players have been commenting on the news through Twitter and have welcomed the news.
