Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan is on the verge of signing for Inter Milan. The 32 year old is expected to join the Italian heavy weights in a deal worth €5 million.
The arrival of Falcao from Porto has paved the way for Forlan to leave Atletico Madrid and his sights are firmly set on joining Inter. He is expected to travel to Milan on Monday and agree terms after completing a medical. He is likely to pen a 2 year deal at the San Siro after Inter sold Samuel Eto’o to Russian club Anzhi last week.
Forlan has been linked with a move away from Madrid after a superb 2010 World Cup which saw Uruguay progress to the semi finals. Tottenham were interested in the striker but it seems that Inter will snap up the forward. He joined Atletico in 2007 after a successful spell with Villarreal.
